Surf School: Why I opened a surf school for Breakthrough Surf

“Surfing isn't just an activity or a sport, it's a way of life” is a well-known phrase but one that really translates what it means to me and many other surfers.

So I decided to open a surf school in the travel context of Breakthrough Surf in Costa da Caparica, Portugal (close to Lisbon) to help learning surfers get up to speed and become autonomous in the water.

It's set up to take people from total beginners until they become completely autonomous surfers so that they can join one of our guided surf trips.

I believe that the quest for adventure is intrinsic to the human experience and that surfing can take you on to some remote adventurous places, so my way to share this with others is to offer, not only, surf trips and tours, but also to help them progress their surfing.
